Park Hill was founded in the 1920s-1940s, and features wide streets as it was designed around the car. Its wide streets are lined with bungalows, tudors, and Mediterranean home styles, but still with alley access for left-over carriages. The "suburb-in-the-city” vibe still exists with a few local shopping and dining areas (23rd & Dexter, 22nd & Oneida, and 23rd & Kearney). These areas boast mom and pop pizza joints, happy hour wine bars, dance studios, the famous Spinelli’s Italian market, and more. Park Hill residents have easy commutes, both to downtown and to the airport along with walking distance to City Park, the Museum of Nature and Science, and the Denver Zoo.
